<0>Your Privacy Is Important To Us<1>Beautifi Solutions Inc. will be referred to as Beautifi, or depending on the context, as “we”, “our”, or “us”, in this privacy statement. As well, in this privacy statement, “you”, and “your” means an individual customer of Beautifi. This privacy policy explains how Beautifi Solutions Inc. uses, discloses, and retains personal information, including information collected by Beautifi Solutions Inc. through websites, telephone calls, and when providing products and services.<2>Your Consent<3>As a Beautifi Customer, you have to opportunity to make choices about how personal information about you may be shared. By providing Beautifi with your personal information, you consent to the collection, use, disclosure, and retention of that information by Beautifi as well as affiliates and related entities to provide you with the services you request and in accordance with this Privacy Policy and as otherwise permitted by applicable law. You may withdraw your consent at any time, however, doing so may limit our ability to provide you with products and services that help you meet your financial needs.<4>Personal Information<5>In this Privacy Policy, “personal information” means information about an identifiable individual, including an individual’s name and email address, and financial information about the individual. We protect this information by maintaining physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that meet applicable law. We train our employees in the proper handling of personal information. Security measures such as passwords, restricted access to our offices and records, physical access security, and file encryption have been put in place to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, collection, use, disclosure, disposal, or similar risks. However, security risks cannot be fully eliminated and Beautifi cannot guarantee that your personal information will not be used, disclosed, or deleted in ways not otherwise described in this Privacy Policy.<8>Information the Beautifi Collects<9>Information you provide<10>You may be asked to voluntarily give your personal information to a Beautifi when you interact, orally, in writing, or by electronic transmission, with Beautifi, including when you subscribe to a newsletter, register to receive information, apply or register for or order a product or service offered by Beautifi. You can choose not to provide certain requested personal information, but then you might not be able to proceed with your intended interaction or transaction with Beautifi or otherwise receive the full benefit of the desired product or service. Telephone calls between you and Beautifi may be recorded to ensure accuracy and quality assurance and may be disclosed to third parties to verify Beautifi is compliant with its contractual obligations to third parties.<11>The nature of personal information we collect and hold about you may include:<12>Information we receive from you on applications and other forms, such as name, gender, date of birth, address, telephone number, email address, occupation, employer, assets, income, language preference, and identification information (such as government-issued identification, social insurance number, driver’s license, passport and/or where permitted, provincial health insurance card), information about your transactions with us or third parties, such as account numbers, account balances, payment history and account activity, information we receive from your employer, and reports we receive from credit bureaus.<13>Automated Collection<14>Beautifi may automatically collect certain information regarding your use of the Beautifi website or online service, such as the dates and times that your access the website or online service, the browsers, operating systems, software and devices that your used to access the website or online service and details of your use of website or online service.<15>Beauifi’s websites, online services, email messages, and advertisements may use technologies (e.g., cookies, web beacons, tokens, pixels or tags – see interest-based advertising section below) to collect information that assists Beautifi to improve its products, services, customer communications and advertising, as well as to prevent fraud. Beautifi may use information that it collects through technological means to recognize you as a user of the Beautifi website or online services, to confirm that messages have been delivered to and opened by you and to provide you with targeted advertisements. You may choose to decline or disable cookies if your web browser or device permits, but by doing so, it may affect your ability to access or use certain features of a website or online service. More information about cookies used for interest-based advertising is set out in the section labelled “Interest-Based Advertising” below.<16>Much of the information that is automatically collected by technological means is aggregated or de-identified information, and Beautifi will deal with that non-personal information as explained below in this Privacy Policy unless applicable by law requires otherwise.<17>Credit Reports<18>When you apply for products or services from Beautifi (e.g., apply for financing, or apply for pre-approval for financing) Beautifi may obtain, and continue to periodically obtain, your credit score and related information from a credit reporting agency to consider your application for financing, process or fulfill the transaction, to update your confidential profile, and for collections purposes, should it be necessary.<19>On the basis of your consent, any lenders or other persons or organizations may request a credit report for any legitimate purpose associated with your application for credit, extending credit, modifying the terms of your credit agreement, collection on your account, or similar services and products.<20>Banking Information<21>With your consent, Beautifi may retrieve your bank account information, including your transaction history (excluding your bank log-in credentials).<22>With your consent, Beautifi may periodically retrieve your bank account information and disclose the bank account information to independent businesses, including Beautifi’s suppliers or service providers for the purpose of providing services to you. Referred Transactions If Beautifi refers you to an independent business (e.g., lender) for a proposed transaction (e.g., loan), then Beautifi may collect from that independent business information regarding the transaction, such as whether the referral was successful and information to help us manage our business relationship with our referee, and understand your needs and interests. We will keep this information confidential.<23>How Beautifi Uses Your Personal Information<24>General<25>Beautifi uses your personal information collected by Beautifi for purposes relating to or arising from your relationship and transactions with Beautifi and as otherwise set out in this Privacy Policy or permitted by applicable law, including, to:<26>Create and manage your account with Beautifi and to contact and correspond with you regarding those matters;<27>Facilitate your requests, interactions and transactions with Beautifi, including to consider and process your applications, requests, and payments;<28>Provide you with products and services;<29>Process and respond to your inquires, requests, and other communications;<30>Provide you with information (such as email and other electronic communications) regarding Beautifi and its products and services and related products and services offered by other businesses, to the extent permitted by applicable law;<31>To maintain, protect and improve Beautifi’s products and services and to develop new financial services and products;<32>To protect and enforce Beautifi’s legal rights, interests, and remedies (including but not limited to collections) and to protect the business, operations, and customers of Beautifi;<33>To detect and prevent fraud and other illegal activities, as well as to monitor compliance with and enforce any terms of use, terms of service or other agreements and policies;<34>To assist other related Beautifi Companies to collect, use, disclose, and retain your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.<35>Interest-Based Advertising<36>Beautifi may use interest-based advertising services provided by third party vendors (such as Google and Facebook) to display advertisements on third party websites and social media sites visited by users of the Beautifi website. Advertising vendors use cookies, pixels or tokens – unique identifiers of a web browser on a specific computer that are installed on the computer when it accesses the Beauifi website – to display ads based on the computer’s past access to Beautifi’s website. You can opt-out of Google’s use of cookies by visiting Google’s Ads Settings.<37>Disclosures of your Personal Information<38>Beautifi discloses your personal information for purposes relating to or arising from your relationship and transactions with Beautifi and as otherwise set out in this Privacy Policy or permitted by applicable law. Beautifi may disclose your personal information in accordance with express or implied consents that you give during your interactions with Beautifi.<39>Some of our service providers that process or handle personal information on our behalf may be located outside Canada. Your personal information may be transferred, stored, and/or processed outside of Canada in connection with the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. For example, we use a client relationship management system (Salesforce) located in the United States. Your personal information and the contractual or other measures we use to protect your personal information may be subject to the legal requirements of and access pursuant to the law in the foreign jurisdictions where your personal information may be transferred, stored, or processed.<40>Referred Transactions<41>If Beautifi refers you to an independent business (e.g., lender) for a proposed transaction (e.g., loan), then with your consent, Beautfi may disclose your personal information (including your financial and related information) to the independent business to facilitate the proposed transaction. If you agree to transfer your personal information to the third party to facilitate the transaction, Beautifi has no control over, or responsibility for the use, disclosure or retention of your personal information by the independent business, and the use, disclosure, and retention of the disclosed information by the independent business is not subject to this Privacy Policy.<42>Suppliers and Service Providers<43>Beautifi may disclose your personal information to its suppliers and service providers (including fraud prevention services, and payment processors) to assist Beautifi in the provision of information, products and services to Beautifi, to assist Beautifi to use your personal information as set out by in this Privacy Policy and as otherwise permitted by applicable law.<44>Law Enforcement/Legal Disclosures<45>Beautifi may disclose your personal information as required or authorized by applicable law, including to comply with a legal obligation, if Beautifi reasonably believes it is appropriate for law enforcement or to protect and enforce legal rights, or interests.<46>Business Transactions<47>Beautifi may contemplate or participate in various business transactions that might involve access to your personal information by other participants in those business transactions in accordance with the law. Personal information may be used by Beautifi and disclosed to parties connected with certain business transactions, such as, corporate amalgamation, reorganization, merger or acquisition, or the sale or transfer of some or all of Beautifi’s business or assets. Beautifi will require the information recipient agree to protect the privacy or your personal information in a manner that is consistent with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.<48>Retention of Personal Information<49>Beautifi retains your personal information for the period reasonably necessary for legitimate legal and business purposes.<50>Accuracy and Access to Personal information<51>Beautifi will rely on you to ensure that your personal information that you provide to us is as accurate, complete and up to date as necessary for the purposes for which Beautifi uses the personal information. You have the right to access your file and request rectification of any personal information in the file that may be obsolete, incomplete, or incorrect. You will promptly notify Beautifi of any changes to your personal information using the procedures made available for that purpose by Beautifi or by contacting Beautifi’s customer service team. We will need to validate the identity of anyone making such a request to ensure we do not provide your personal information to anyone who does not have the right to that information.<52>Other Websites and Businesses<53>Beautifi’s websites and correspondence (including emails/messages) may include advertisements for products and services (e.g., personal loans and medical procedures) offered by independent businesses or links to websites operated by independent businesses (e.g., lenders, medical professionals, etc.). Beautifi has no responsibility or liability for, or control over, those other websites, online services or businesses, their products or services, or their collection, use, disclosure, or retention of your personal information. This Privacy Policy does not apply to the collection, use, disclosure, and retention of your personal information by those websites, online services, and independent businesses.<54>Changes to this Privacy Policy<55>Beautifi may change this Privacy Policy from time to time by posting a new version of this Privacy on the Beautifi website. Your continued dealings with Beautifi after any change to this Privacy Policy will signify your consent to the collection, use, disclosure, and retention of your personal information as set out in the updated Privacy Policy.
